Public Intox in SoCal.

Hey.

So, I ended up drinking a bit much last night and mysteriously wound up in a cell for 14+ hours. They did not do a breathalyzer nor did they take a blood sample. They literally pulled me out of a crowd outside a bar. I don't know why they chose me out of everybody else, really.

Anyway, point being, I've never had a misdemeanor before (unless a couple speeding tickets count?). I have a court date next month. What could I be looking at as far as sentences or fees? Should I get a lawyer to help me? And how bad is this on my record exactly?

Depending on the jurisdiction, this may be resolved without charges filed. If charges ARE filed, you can expect a fine and fees, maybe probation with no alcohol consumption stipulations, and maybe alcohol counseling.

It is not a huge crime.
