Yes, most at least every 12 mounths. Some breath testers can be very sensitive to temperature and will give false reasings if not recalibrated to account surrounding air temperatures. Other common things that can cause false BAC levels are alcohol, blood or vomit in the persons mouth, electrical interference from cell phones and police radios, tobacco smoke, dirt, and moisture.

but so what?

Slam,
I kind of thought these things may need to be re-calibrated from
time to time.
After all, I know of no instrument, machine, or even man that works perfectly everytime, all the time, forever.

I was just thinking about the poor souls that blew in this defective breathalyzer before the "powers that be" realized the damn thing was out of calibration. But, you can bet your ass those same "powers that be" didn't go back and inform all those souls that blew in that defective machine that their judge, jury and excutioner was wrong!! Imagine that. A machine screwing up. Man, what is the world coming to.

IAAL, obviously, judging by the use of your language, you have some very deep seeded emotions surrounding this issue. But, you, of all people, being an attorney should realize that we still have the right to be judged by our peers, not a machine.

I'm certain you'll come back with some smart ass rhetoric so be my guest.

My state bird is now a cross between an eagle (Mexico) and a quail (California). That makes some people think they are all equail.
