Restoring license either NY or NJ

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NJ and NY

My boyfriend was arrested and charged with a DUI (failure to take breathalyzer) three years ago in NYS, sentenced to probation for 5 years and license revoked for one. The one year period is over, but probation will not allow him to get his license.

He moved to NJ with the permission of probation, but is not under current supervision. It has been almost a year since he moved to NJ, and he still makes payments to NYS probation. However, NYS will not let him get his driver's license. Can he get a NJ license? Or does he need to wait until NYS allows him to get his NY license?

Thanks!

Thumbs up

I Love Jersey

Being from New Mexico, I cannot advise you on what you should do in Jersey or New York.

Why not?

Did he fail to complete the terms of probation?

Was he supposed to complete an alcohol assessment course or NY equivalent?

There's got to be more to this...

Nope. Not until he reinstates in New York.
