Scheduled for my 10 days of jail time

What is the name of your state? Ohio

I was charged with a DUI two years ago and was sentenced to 10 days in jail. My question is I have postponed the 10 days for several different reasons delivering baby and then being to sick with gallbladder, liver problems and test are still being ran. Not to mention I have a certain diet that must be followed. How do I deal with this in jail?

You leave your problems home for ten days,,,

Jails usually have an infirmary where the bunks are equipped with medical necessities and monitored by doctors and nurses. They also have special diet trays available, which will be tailored for a persons particular medical condition. There are many inmates with an endless array of medical conditions that are receiving the food, medicine and treatment they need.

You will see a doctor or nurse when you surrender to serve your time and they will review your medical requirements and see that you receive what you need.

In some states, it is also possible to request spreading the time out, staying for two days at a time.

Me? I'd want to get it over with as quickly as possible, make the needed arrangements to get everything covered and check in to the County Jail B&B. Here in Fl, you don't get to pick when to serve, they take you straight from the judge's bench.

Well I can answer my own question now. No special diet trays just pills called extractors and believe me nothing is tailored for anyone unless you have aids, hepatitis B or C, depended on hard illegal drugs and such. I went in with beautiful long hair and came out with a head full of lice. My hair is now ten inches shorter. I 'd have to say that my DUI truly cost me and my children everything. In my entire life I have had very little interest in alcohol, for two years I have had NO interest in alcohol on any level. The fact of the matter is a person can not leave the house and have a drink anywhere. Lets all face it parking lots do not belong anywhere alcohol is served. The good thing is gas is so high no one will be driving anyway. Maybe will see the taxi cabs in the suburbs now. Or maybe we should all move back in the city and we won't need a drivers license and if we choose to have a drink or two with friends (Not twenty drinks but two drinks) it won't hang over our heads our entire life.

Congratulations on FINALLY serving your time.
I do find it funny that you have no interest in alcohol, yet you decry not being able to have 2 drinks with friends

You want to hear something outrageous? When *I* go out with friends, I enjoy THEIR company - WITHOUT having to have "2 drinks".

Wow, county jails in Ohio sounds like a real sewer. I imagine your sentence wasn't long enough to send in a kite to request an appointment with a doctor/nurse, then see the doctor/nurse and have him/her write up the paperwork and get that information to the kitchen who would make up your tray. But due to the many medical conditions and needs of inmates, they all must serve dietary trays to those who have to have them for medical and/or religious reasons, once a doctor/nurse qualifies them to receive one.

But if Ohio's jails are like a pit from hell, they probably have a lower recidivism rate than those states and counties with the nicer jails.

The Clark County detention center in Las Vegas has carpeted modules! When it gets cold out in the winter, there's a line to get into the place!

I wasn't talking about me now. I was speaking of everyone else who wants to have a drink with friends in a bar with a parking lot. And I was pointing out two drinks not twenty. I also think people need to know that two drinks can cost you everything. I have a 10 month old baby in the house so I don't meet anyone out now days nor do I care. Plus I am on a beautiful white sand beach everyday watching the beautiful blue waters roll in and out, so if I did want to hang out with my friends it would be on the beach.

You have got to be kidding "carpet" of my god. We got two blankets, metal, plastic chair and concrete I thought being in jail was hell and don't want to ever go back. And I will say the county jail that I was schedule to serve my sentance in was so packed that they drove 12 of us to a jail an hour away.

Goshen

I'm from Illinois, but got arrested in Goshen (small town) in Clermont, Ohio. I was a first time offender and it was surprising I got jail time. It really sucked out there. You weren't in Clermont county by chance, were you??

Was this for DUI? Was there an accident? You said jail time? What amount of jail time? Just curious.

yes

It was for a dui. First time I ever got in kind of trouble - and I got jail. Probably because I was from out of state. No accident - wasn't even driving at the time, but the conclusion was that I must have driven drunk to get to the bar I was at.
