sold alcohol to minor

undefinedWhat is the name of your state? texas

I work at a restaurant and i forgot to check an ID. Next thing I know the TABC (texas alcohol and beverage commision) comes in and writes me a ticket. They said theyre doing me a favor by not taking me to jail but I have to turn myself in in two weeks and a letter will be sent to my house. I am 21 but am not TABC certified. Will i go to jail for this?? Do I need a lawyer?? I called a bail bond company and they said Im not in the system yet. I really do not want to go to jail for this. My record is clean, not even a traffic ticket. They also told me it was a class A misdemeanor...will this stay on my record forever? I need your advice so when i do get that letter to show up, i know exactly what to do. please help thanks.

Interesting

Well, either the TABC was doing restaurant surveys or whomever you sold the alchohol to told their parents and their parents called them.

Nobodies perfect, and any save judge understands this. Of course, you're going to be asked "How could you forget something like this?" I would think that if you can prove you made and honest mistake, that you're chances are pretty good to come out of this with a handslap.

Just follow the States orders and do what you're told.

i wasn't set up

when you get busted for things like drinking underage, sometimes the punishment is to work with the TABC and go with them on their "runs"
i know i just got unlucky but i was wondering if i need a lawyer present with me at the time of court or if i could represent myself and get this off my record. is it true that i can only get probation if i get a lawyer. i really need this off my record , but how?? ( texas law )

You really should get a lawyer.
