SR22 Filing in California

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Sorry if this is the complete wrong place to post this question, but here it goes.
I received a DUI a little over 3 years ago. I'm not positive, but I think my terms for filing an SR22 is 3 years. So here are my questions

1. How can confirm how long I must keep an SR22 on file? Can I just contact the DMV?

2.If I only need to keep it for 3 years, then would it be a good idea for me to switch insurance companies to get a lower rate?

Answer

To question number 1: Yes, calling the DMV would be the most prudent course of action.

2: I would frequently shop for better rates and never be loyal to any insurance company.
