SR22 Proof of Liability QuestionWhat is the name of your state? Currently live in Hawaii. Hello! I have a semi technical question concerning SR22 Proof of Liability Filling. Any help would be appreciated. Here is my scenario: -Received a DUI in California with a California Drivers License. -I now live in Hawaii. -Completed all necessary requirements to get my license back and had it un-suspended from California DMV. -Got my Drivers License switched over to Hawaii State Drivers License -Canceled my SR22 within a week of having my license in Hawaii. -California DMV has sent me a Order of Suspension but it is for my California Drivers License Number. So my question is, will my Hawaii License be suspended or is it just my California License? I assumed when I changed my residency and changed my license to Hawaii, that the California laws would not apply. Thus canceling my SR22 in California would not effect the status of my Hawaii drivers license. Or if Hawaii was going to suspend my license, wouldn't the letter come from the Hawaii DMV and not from California? Again, any help would be appreciated. My next step would be to contact California DMV or the Hawaii DMV. But I loath that experience. Thanks!! |
