Suspension in driver's record due to mistaken identity What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
I moved to USA in april 2009 on H4 visa. I applied for CA driver license in june2009 and I got one within a month. While paying my car insurance my insurance company asked me to pay higher premium as they found a suspension in my driving license. This was recorded in Iowa state in 2005. I have obtained a copy of this record from local( winnetka) dmv. The person who has this suspension has same name as mine but his D.O.B , height, weight differs from mine. This genteman's driving license has been updated/attached to my drivers record. From my side, I have never been to USA before 2009 so I do not own a state driving license before this.
When contacted CA DMV they advised me to furnish a letter from Iowa dmv saying "I do not have a suspension in Iowa". But Iowa Dmv call centre excutive declined me any such letter as they do not have such practice of issuing a letter. For someones mistake I am paying additional $350 for 6 months insurance. Can anyone suggest me a solution for my problem? |
