    Transportation of alcohol Citation

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

Yesterday i got an underage for transporting alcohol, but i didn't do anything wrong. Here is the story.

I was walking back from getting food, when my roommate decided that he wanted to get two six packs of beer(he is 21). So we go into the first place and he doesn't find the type of beer that he wanted. So we walked down the block to another place that sells individual six packs, and he finds one of the two kinds of beer that he wanted. So he purchases it. He still wanted to try and find the other kind so he goes into the bar two stores up to look for it. I am under 21 so i stayed outside the bar with my other roommate holding the six pack because my buddy didn't want to take the six pack into the bar with him. My roommate who is 21 comes out of the bar, and they didn't have the type that he wanted, so we just started to walk back to the apartment. We walked no more than 15 steps and an undercover came up behind us and asked for id. We cooperated and showed our id's. I am 20 years old and was holding the six pack because i completely forgot to just hand it back to him when he came out of the bar. So they cited me for transporting beer underage.

I feel that i did nothing wrong i just had a little brain fart and didn't think to hand my 21 year old friend his beer back when he came out of the bar. I don't drink ever and I feel like i am being wrongfully punished for something that i didn't even do. I can't lose my license and i don't want to have anything on my record, because if i do i will lose my job. Is there a good change that i will get out of this. The undercover pretty much told me "file as not guilty and show up when your supposed to and they will be lenient." I don't see why they would have to be lenient because i don't feel that i did anything that deserved to be punished for. Please give me some advice, or at least an opinion on what might happen.

You are being charged with something you didn't do? You were not charged with drinking beer, you were charged with transporting beer. Which you did. Don't go into court with the attitude that you didn't do anything wrong, that will get you the maximum sentence.

I understand that! I have no intentions on giving anyone any attitude! I don't want anything to come from this! It was just an accident and i wasn't trying to do anything illegal. I was just holding it for a friend while he went into the bar. Then i just forgot to hand it back to him. No i understand that i was doing something wrong. And i cooperated with the cops completely. I am not trying to be a punk i am just an honest kid who got caught up in a simple mistake.

Then, when you go to court, bring your friend with you and explain what happened.

You will be admitting to the possession, but throwing yourself upon the mercy of the court.
