Transporting Beer

What is the name of your state? Alabama

I live in a dry county in Alabama and like to drink beer on the weekends. The closest place to purchase any is 35 miles away. I really love the taste of draft beer and would like to convert an old refrigerator into a kegerator. My question, is it illegal to buy a keg in a wet county and transport it back to my home, which is in a dry county? If so, what would be the fine if caught?

I know that you are allowed one case and 3 qts of liquor/wine per person, but what about a 30 pack, party ball or keg? If it isn't open and out of reach of the driver?

While I'm not familiar with how the laws differ in one Alabama county to the next, I believe your question needs to be researched at the county level. In other words, when you possess alcohol, you must abide by the ordinances of a particular county or city when you are within their borders, regardless of what state laws apply.
Hence, we would first need to know the particular county you are concerned with and then we would only be able to research the ordinances if the county your inquiring about, posts this information on their county website. If they have one at all.

So if there is such a website, you can probably answer your own questions by searching for information there.

If nothing is listed on line, contact your county clerk and ask how you can obtain a copy of the county laws which regulate the sale and possession of alcohol. He/she should be able to direct you to where you can find the answers to your questions.

No Website

for county ordinances. I would need the ordinance for Fayette County and Marion County since I would be traveling through both. If you could help I would appreciate it.

Why don't you call the local law enforcement agencies and ask...

What and tip them off?

"kegerator" Too funny!

How about an old Television,,, The "Kegovision" you've had enough when you see in stereo!
or an old toilet, The "Kegocrapper" also comes in handy when you've had way too much!

Or a Baby's crib,,, The "Kegocrib" Time for daddy to sing, tell stories and wet his pants!
