TX Can I get a ID when I lost my license

What is the name of your state? TX
My case is complicated to say in the least.
I need a ID to fly. Can I get one in TX even if
I have a warrant? I am not running, I need to make
money to hire a good attorney.
Thank you.

If you want a state ID, you have to go to DPS. And if you go there, you run the risk they'll arrest you.

Question

That is not what I want. What if I go to another state?

I want to take care of this. It takes money. I am not going to to just hand myself over and not have a good lawyer by my side. Can I get a ID in another state?

Why don't you just get a passport?

It depends on what the warrant is for. If you would elaborate on that maybe you could get some better advice.

If you're not running I would suggest calling the agency that issued the warrant and see what you can do to take care of it. I assume you would rather avoid jail, but if a warrant has been issued for anything above a class C misd. offense it's unlikely. If you're short on cash for an attorney you might want to turn yourself in, post bond, and hire an attorney before your trial. If it's simply some unpaid tickets you may be able to make payments and have the warrant removed.

Another big factor is if the warrant is through DPS! If it's anything above a class C then it will be in TCIC and you will probably be arrested. If it's a warrant issued by DPS it will show that when you apply for an ID and you will probably be arrested. If it's simply an unpaid ticket from another dept. in TX you probably won't be able to get an ID, but MAY not be arrested.

Do you live in that state? Consider you may commit a crime by applying for an ID in another state if you don't live there. Also if you're warrant is for a felony....you'll probably get arrested there and then have to wait for extradition.

My advice....Don't waste money trying to get an ID somewhere else, even a passport. If you warrant is for a felony (which, I'm guessing it is) you run the risk of being arrested wherever you go particularly if you're flying!! Do you want to go to jail, and have to either find a bondsman or face extradition there or at home? You'll probably spend MORE money in the long run. Take care of your warrant first.
