What do you think will happen to her?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

My niece was charged with a criminal misdemeanor in March for possession of drug paraphanelia. Her case has been continued a couple of times for what ever reason (she won't share anything), and I think it has now been resolved as of July 11th.

On July 5th, she was charged with a DUI, and again, possession of drug paraphanelia. Her BAC was three times the legal limit. She is 21 years old. She has, or is in the process of, retaining a lawyer for her upcoming court date sometime in August.

I know no one has a crystal ball, but I am just wondering what may realistically happen to her, due to the aggravated DUI, and two paraphaneila charges in less than 4 months of each other. If it helps, both arrests happened in Kendall County, same city.

Thank you all kindly!

Your niece has severe drug problems (her favorite drug being alcohol).

Get her help immediately.

Yes, clearly she does have a substance abuse problem, but that is not my question here.

I am merely looking for some insight or speculation as to what may happen to her when she goes to court next month. Has anyone encountered a similar situation, or know someone who has?

What happens will most likely have a lot to do with the terms of her probation. (I assume she was placed on probation as a part of her sentencing for her last case)

She will now also be facing a charge of violating her probation. They may want her to sit in jail for up to 30 days just for the VOP. There's really no way of knowing. She may have more than these two arrests on her record, if she is one to keep these sort of things to herself,,,,,
