What in God's Name Is Wrong With Some Of You?

What is the name of your state? North Carolina

I'm new to this forum. I thought this was a place where people like me, who know nothing about the law could get advice for their legal problems/questions from "professionals" who are willing to share their knowledge about the law, because they want to help someone. Instead, I have discovered that some of you aren't really here to try and help others, instead your calling people names, insulting them, and embarrassing them. Why, when all they are doing is asking for some help! These people are willing to share very personal events which have happened to them, with you, a perfect stranger! I don't think they posted their message to this group, just so you can put them down.

I am a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Professional! I get a lot of people asking me for help and advice concerning AutoCAD questions. How professional would I look replying to someone who is seeking my help with a reply like this; What, were you DRUNK in class? Didn't you pay attention when they taught you how to Extrude a Polygon object, so you can make it into a solid? Stupid, you have to do that before you can do a 3D Isometric View of your drawing! I can see now, if I ever need some legal advice, I sure won't be seeking it from this website. All ya'll do is insult me!

It's real easy to sit in the comfort of your home, and insult someone from your computer keyboard isn't it? All this poor girl wanted was some help from ya'll, and all she gets is responses like this:

My response:

You are out of your mind.

What could possibly possess you to think that we would help you, a repeat, recalcitrant, drunken offender? What possibly makes you think we would want you back on the road - - especially when you get into vehicle accidents?

Were you drunk when you wrote your post?

My response:

There you go. Now you've got the right idea!

One less drunken driver. Since you're hell-bent on killing yourself, why not take pills? It's cheaper, quicker and more private.

Unfortunately, and statistically speaking, you'll "take someone else out" in your drunken stupor - - like a child - - before you end up killing yourself.

Gee, thanks loads.

And, you're right again . . . it was "tacky" for you to have lived to disturb me.

And, you can be cited for public drunkenness while walking when drunk. It is obvious you were drunk when you posted. Just look at the date of your accident. December 2002 hasn't even arrived. You leave the scene of an accident, drive home, call the police, and have a few more drinks. What a "BUCKETHEAD"!! Then, you, a repetitive drunk driver posted for free advice and help to get your driver's license back and you don't like the responses? Well, then look in the yellow pages for a criminal attorney. We intelligent, law abiding, citizens and professionals have no sympathy for you and no desire to help you. We don't think your 3 days in jail, 240 hours of community service, $2000 in fines, 2 years of probation, and a year's suspension of your driver's license is enough, and WE DON'T WANT YOU AND OTHER DRUNK DRIVERS ON THE ROAD.

More Reasons Why Writer Shouldn't Get Her License Back

Watches Monday Night Football and believes "first down" is a race to "score" with Bubba.

Too drunk to make it to "Drunks R Us" gathering.

Every time she needs to puke and finds the toilet seat down, she blames IAAL!

All ya'll did was put this person down, you didn't even give her any advice, so what are you doing replying? Get lost, people like you make this whole website a joke!

Talking

she was given advice - not to drive, stop drinking and get an attorney.

the fact that we didnt all hold her hand and say how sorry we felt for her is not what this board is about. some people dont deserve that anyway.

But i'm sure if you look her up and pour a couple drinks in her she will be very receptive to your sympathy. just remember to post the pictures so we can all enjoy.

cadguy2, if you have a complaint, take it up with the website administrator rather than wasting server space on this website.

Your first thread on this website was a big joke.
You were too damn cheap to pay for an ISP account for business and personal email and instead used free hotmail email accounts. Then you want to sue when there were problems. Did you ever bother to read the hotmail rules before signing up?
If you did and investigated the real facts with hotmail, you would have discovered the answers on your own.

My response:

You're mixing apples and oranges with your examples. It's not just a matter of legal advice - - it's also a matter of the needs of society. When a person drinks and drives, they become a danger to all of us.

Sometimes, it's necessary to take a person by the shoulders and shake them unmercifully to hopefully wake them up. The person you used as an example was but one person who wrote to these forums who was a drunk driver "to the extreme." So, don't give us lectures about how she should have been handled. We judge. We don't want her to harm anyone by driving again.

I don't recall when a drunk AutoCad user ever killed anyone. That's what I meant by mixing apples and oranges.

If you don't like something here, then I suggest you go to a Dear Abby site. But here, we'll not only give our legal opinions, but you'll also get a hefty load of personal beliefs and judging. We do that because it's necessary sometimes.

When it comes to people who drink and drive, we could say the very same thing - - "What in God's name is wrong with all of you?"

IAAL

cadguy2 e-mails self

Here's an e-mail I sent to cadguy2. Instead of dwelling on his hacked account idea, I proposed the spammer was just changing his/her account information in Outlook to cadguy2's e-mail address, and then sending out bulk spam. It happens all the time.

Obviously he poo poo'd the idea, and posted this crap I'm replying to now. I realized replying to this is pathetic, so to make up for it I'm taking the train to London Monday and going to see Bodyworlds. http://www.bodyworlds.com/en/home.asp

See ya everyone,

Laura

Subject: See what I'm talking about?

"Date : Fri, 30 Aug 2002 04:17:38 -0700

I run a small Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drafting Service from my home. I am very concerned that some of my clients will receive one of these E-mail messages soliciting the Porn website, and think I am sending it to them! The few clients I have are respected people, Architects, Engineers, and some women Interior Designers. This could possibly hurt my business relationship, and might result in my not receiving any more work from them.

I have contacted abuse@hotmail.com for help, yet they keep saying these people are hard to find. Common sense tells me that the people who own these websites, must have hired this person or person's to solicit their advertisement for them. After all, the E-mail directs you to their website!

My question, can I sue these website owners for defamation of my character, possible damage to my business relationship with my clients, and what ever else I can get them for? If I have to cancel my account with Hotmail, it will cost me time, and money. I'll have to pay someone to redo the contact information on my website, contact all the people I have ever contacted using cadguy2@hotmail.com. What a mess!

Thank you for any advice you may give me. I do not have a local Attorney, and I need help.

Thanks again.

cadguy2

I'm lauracam, one of the ones who responded to your first message at FreeAdvice.com. I was a bit perplexed after reading the second message posted under your handle entitled, "What in God's Name Is Wrong With Some Of You?" Confusion arose because you received sound advice and information regarding your dilemma, and instead of responding, you wrote the (appropriately named) number two.

When you use Outlook or Outlook Express to pull in your e-mail, you can view the source code of each e-mail that comes your way. A snippet of code resembles the following:

Received: From pc-62-30-118-145-cr.blueyonder.co.uk [62.30.118.145] by mailserver10.fasthosts.co.uk
(Matrix SMTP Mail Server v(1.3)) ID=55D7CFA9-97D8-401D-9B1A-33D1ECFB0E5B ; Sat, 07 Sep 2002 19:32:22 +0000
(3)Received: from carol (pcp01567625pcs.hlcrs201.al.comcast.net [68.63.21.139])

The code above tells you where the e-mail came from. If you used a decent service, there would be someone there for you to complain to and action would be taken. Fasthosts is in England. Comcast is US.

I stand by what I said in my first response to you. Using a hotmail e-mail address for a business account is poor practice. I personally wouldn't buy a product or pay for a service through a company who uses hotmail e-mail addresses for communication. If you consider my assessment impolite, my loss and your gain, that's just as well.

Last but not least, SpamNet is excellent, easy to use, anti-spamming software. It's free (your favorite) and you can download it here http://www.cloudmark.com/products/. You block the spam the program fails to eliminate, and once it's blocked by you, it'll be blocked for everyone else who uses the product. Good stuff.

Your pathetic second message warranted this e-mail, and I'll stick it underneath your post on FreeAdvice.com. You need help? Pay for a better service. What a concept.

Juge, Jury and Executioners are we?

Look, I don't give a rat's (you know what) about what you think of me, how pathetic my posts are, or anything else you might say about me. Ya know why? Duh, maybe it's because I don't give a rat's (you know what) about you!

All I am saying is, some of you, (not everyone) should be ashamed of your selves for being so cruel to others with your remarks. Some of the replies I've read from some of you are just down right insulting! No one is asking for your opinions of what YOU think about them. Just like me, I was looking for your help and advice, not your hate! "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone!"

Those of you who have replied to my thread. Are any of you Americans? Thank you to all who did reply to my first post. I did receive some great advice from some of you, and I corrected my situation. If you need AutoCAD advice someday, let me know. Hopefully I won't treat some of you, like you've treated others.

See ya.

This is the message:

Good morning Lauracam,

I was quite surprised to see an E-mail from Don Kaminska. Thank you for pointing this out to me. I have changed my business contact information to a different E-mail service, and I have requested that Hotmail close my account.

What could possibly be the reason I even have a Hotmail account? Well, could be due to the fact that in 1993 my computer shut down because of a virus, and the repair place kept it for about two months! I was in college studying Architecture and really needed a computer, so I used friends and the Public Library's to get on line. I was using AT&T (yes I paid for it) as my ISP at the time. Unless my friends had AT&T (which they didn't), I could not access my E-mail and the Library was using AOL. I found that I could access my NEW Hotmail account from any computer.

I don't know or care how long you and your friends in the forum have been using the Internet, but back in the 90's it was a lot different from what it is now! Some of you may have still been wearing diapers when I signed up for MSN Hotmail! If I remember, Hotmail didn't have any rules on whether you were using your account for business, or personal use. Maybe they do now, but they have never contacted me saying I cannot use it for business. I decided to use Hotmail as my primary E-mail address when I started my drafting business East Coast CAD Solutions. If my computer goes out again, I can go down to the Library and receive E-mail for possible contracts. I can't risk loosing money to support my wife and children, just because some of you don't think Hotmail is the best E-mail service in the world. BTW, I do pay for some things, like my current ISP, AOL! Some people are really stupid! Why pay when you can get it free, unless your a total moron!

My so called "pathetic second message" warranted a response because of some of the things I've been reading on FreeAdvice.com. You call yourselves Professionals? Where is the "professionalism" in this lauracam? This isn't FreeAdvice, this is just plain replying with insults! Maybe the fella who responded to this plea for help should be the one getting lynched! What do you think?

Saturday night I was stopped because I was following a friend to a restaurant in which case this friend stopped abruptly which cause me to come to an abrupt stop also. Comming about 10 inches away from his bumper. Any how the CHP pulled me over. He gave me three roadside test including the breathalizer to determine whether I was drunk. I blew .12. I was also driving on suspended license. I was arrested. I was arrested for vc.23152(a) &(b) and vc.14go1.2 My question is : Last year I was charged with a wet & wrecklace. My court date is set for Sept. 19 2002. Whats the worst that can happen and and should I get a Lawyer.
My response:

Say, Tyrone, what it is, my brutha? Slap me some skin !

So, last year you were hit with "wet & wrecklace" ?

What's the worst that can happen? How about being lynched?

Aw, I got a separate response from everyone else.

You got lynched because you received decent advice the first time around, and then you griped about the unprofessionalism of this board.

Some people don't actually get civil help, Don, and you did. We offered different points of view, from telling you Hotmail is easily hacked to your account wasn't hacked at all (my theory.)

If your computer goes out again, you can simply go the library, or a friends house, log into http://endymion.com/products/mailman/demo/mailman.cgi and check your e-mail there.

I'll end this banter now, as I'm bored with this subject. Besides my high horse needs feeding.
