Wierdness in DUI processing

What is the name of your state? Michigan

Ok, my situation is as follows:
I was arrested about 2.5 months ago for oui (my first), after running my vehicle off the road into a fence. The arrest was based off my breathalizer (tm?) test, which I blew at a not-insubstantial .14. The officers (who were state patrol) destroyed my license and issued me a BAC temp, then took me into the county drunk tank to dry out. When I was released, I was issued a ticket for being unable to pay my booking fees (the only ticket I recieved).

Since I left the jail, I have heard *nothing*. I've recieved no correspondence, and when I was recently pulled over for a traffic violation (not relevent), my license was clearly still valid from the fact that I was not arrested, etc.

So, my question is this: The cops clearly have me dead to rights, and I've never argued with that. I'm confused why I've never been arraigned, and I'm wondering how long this can loom over my head before some form of limitation makes it a null-issue. For obvious reasons, I don't really feel inclined to rock the boat; at the same time, I've called the county prosecutor repeatedly, but they don't even have a file with my name on it.

Did you appear on the date of your citation?

And don't take the lack of action by the officers as meaning that your license or name were clear ... it could be that they never ran it.

All you can really do is keep you eyes and ears open, and keep in touch withthe court or the DA's office so that you don't suddenly get a warrant beacuse they claim you failed to appear for some proceeding.

And hopefully they have your correct address so they CAN mail you something should it be necessary.

re:

I didn't recieve any citation, they said I'd get something in the mail... also, as pertains to the officers when I was pulled over, the situation was strange enough that I am sure they ran my license (was carrying DUI temp, was pulled over for failure to yield because traffic light was out & I didn't see it, turns out the secretary of state never bothered to register the car in my name OR register my new plate to the car, so it looked stolen; I would probably have gone to jail that night if I hadn't had my receipt for my title request in the car with me)... in fact, I think they mentioned running my license, but maybe not.
Anyway, does it seem abnormal that it's taking so long? I'm not especially eager to pay out thousands of dollars in fabulous cash prizes, et cetera, but I'm a student and would like this dealt with before the fall semester starts. Of course, I wouldn't mind if it 'fell through the cracks' or whatever, but that seems pretty unlikely.
