What is the name of your state?I recently got a DUI in MD. The reason I got pulled over was for speeding, 74 in a 55, and prior to this, my driving record was clean. I was arrested and given the breathalyzer roughly 90 minutes after the time of arrest. I blew a 0.17 but my BAL would've been lower if I had been tested at the time of arrest since the alcohol had an hour and a half to absorb. My question is whether or not I should get an actual lawyer. I've already located a place where I can take the MD certified "Alcohol Class" BEFORE I got to court, which'll make me look better. I have never even gotten a speeding ticket before that night, so I think if I show that I'm really trying to do better, I'll more than likely get PBJ, right? My friend got a DWI a few years ago and is really advising me to get a real lawyer and I definitely want to be charged with as little as possible, so could a Public Defender do that for me? Any advice that anyone can give me will be hugely appreciated!
