Bomb -> Disruptive Behavior?

What is the name of your state? North Carolina
I was recently written up for Disruptive Behavior.
How this came to be?
I was in one of my classes and after I finished doing some work I had started browsing the web. I was at this page http://www.unitednuclear.com/experindex.htm when a teacher commented on what I was looking at because it had bomb on the page. I was then taken to the office and told that I have a hearing (trial sort of thing) this Friday and if I am found "guilty" I will suspended from school for several days. How going to a website to getting in trouble for Disruptive Behavior I do not know. Even if it said bomb on it the site was educational. Getting suspended specifically because there was bomb on the page was like doing the same thing if there was an airplane on the page or something else. Mind you this "bomb" was only a smoke like firework thing. Not very harmful if you ask me... I just was wondering if you guys think it would be possible for me to argue against this and win. I really appreciate your time and effort in responding to this. Thanks.

Thanks, but that thread went off topic really fast... lol Plus I think mt situation is a bit different. Do you not believe that the site I was on could be called "educational"?

**A: is this a private or public school? How long have you been attending? What has been your GPA for each of the years attended? Other than this bomb incident, has there been any other incidents of any nature where you were in trouble with a teacher and/or the school? Do you participate in any extra-curricular activities, clubs etc. as part of school and outside of school? If so, please list. If you have a job, please provide the info. Do you go to church, if so, please provide the info. Are you a special needs student? What grade are you in?
Your argument and prevailing would be contingent on a number of factors including but not limited to the information requested above.

I have been attending this school 3 years. My gpa is somewhere 3.2-3.4 and 3.8-4.2 weighted. I am in the mathletes and RUSH club. RUSH is a youth outreach club at school which tries to reach unreached students about GOD. I have always taken the highest classes far as honors and now taking an AP. I am graduating early and currently already taking 2 college classes at a local community college. This school is public. The only other incident that occurred before was my freshmen year where I had a watch that controlled the tv. I got detention for 2 days. I have never been suspended before. I go to church almost every Sunday and attend extra curricular church activities. I am currently in 11th grade. I am not a special needs student, but I am in advanced math classes.

Yes - but not the type of education you're supposed to be getting on school computers!

**A: with the support of your parents, I think you have a chance to work things out with the school.

Let's assume that you're a genius.
Serial Bombers have never turned out to have a genius IQ now, have they?

The school teaches chemistry and we did several experiments with chemicals that site sold. I do not see how looking at chemistry experiments is not justified on a school computer. Thanks HomeGuru, I also thought the same thing. At the same time I wanted to get advice on how should be prepared etc. And when people talk about how bomb is all dangerous I would think that would be more put with an airport or something seeing how I cannot recall a school EVER being bombed. Just a lot of bomb threats. Thanks for the input guys.

Give a copy of this thread to your parents and have them read it along with the school policies. You all need to discuss this issue soon say tonight or Wed night after a family dinner.

The school policies say nothing about this, it was the Assistant Principal opinion that I should be charged with Disruptive Behavior. Nowhere in the in the handbook on rules they gave us say anything about it. Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it.

Ever heard of Columbine?

Look, if your reasons for looking at the site were totally innocent, then I would chalk it up to stupidity. In fact, I would plead stupidity with your school officials.
Good luck in your hearing. I hope that you get whatever help you need.
