PA vaccine mandate

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

My daughter is attending nursing school in Philadelphia, PA (Aria Healthcare).
Last week they sent an email to all the students saying that they MUST receive the H1N1 vaccine or they can't participate in the clinical setting.
Can they legally do that? The hospital staff hasn't even been informed of mandatory vaccinations. My daughter does not want the vaccine, what can we do?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Yes, they can. Your daughter's options are to take the vaccine or leave the program.

Your daughter could endanger her patients if she gets the virus. Even if it's not much of a danger to HER, the patients are a different story, since they are already sick. Yes, they can require her to get it.

The H1N1 vaccine won't be available until mid-October, at best. Heathcare workers are at risk for contracting H1N1 and thus, as ecmst stated, could pass it to patients who may already be immuno-compromised.

Unless your daughter has one of the contra-indications to receiving the vaccine, and can get documentation to that effect from her Physician, her employer can require her to be vaccinated.
