What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? KY

I'm not sure why the last thread is closed and hope I'm not doing anything terrible by posting.

Just saying thank you for the responses and discussion, and people sharing their own personal experiences. I can see there's not a simple answer and that it can go in any and every direction possible and it might even just come down to personalities. So we will just see what happens. He wouldn't try to hide anything.

I hate the term 'baby daddy' too but after I'd already said "dad", "our son" and "biological father" - baby daddy was the next best descriptive term I could think of to enforce the point! ;)

Though I do think that marriage is entirely a personal choice and not a sign of responsibility at all.

Thanks for helping.

mdees, I did not participate in your other thread but I read the responses. I just wanted to say "thank you" for returning to the forum to thank the volunteers who did respond to your question.

No one gets paid to provide advice on this forum and yet experts from across the country come here to help out those who need some legal assistance or direction. It is really nice when those who have asked questions thank the member-volunteers for the time spent on assisting and for the information provided.

Thank you. :)

Good luck.

Not surprisingly, I agree completely with Quincy. :)

Now, not to prolong the discussions, but to provide a little pertinent (to the original question) information, there is a definite possibility that your son's school will do a background check. You will only know by asking. I suggest you call the district office. They should also be able to tell you if your boyfriend's past will prevent him from participating at school.

Here are some links that are relevant to the question:

I hope this helps the OP, as I think the other thread was closed because it veered so far afield from the original question.

I did not participate in the other thread, but my understanding is a Background check will be done. But, they are looking for felonies/crimes against children. They just want to make sure there aren't any pedophiles going to the Zoo with our children.
