Contesting APS custody in Arkansas

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? AR

How would I go about contesting APS custody of my 81 year old mother? She fell and broke her hip, but refused the surgery at first because one of my sisters had that same surgery many years before and ended up crippled from it--my sister convinced her to agree to the surgery--then APS got involved and my mom had a stroke--now she is unable to speak for herself. APS charged that she must have had dementia to refuse the surgery in the first place, and took custody of her after she was unable to speak for herself. She did not have any durable poa or living will in place at the time.

Hire an attorney and petition for guardianship of your mother.
