What is the name of your state? Arizona

I'm new at all of this, but it has fallen on me to deal with all the details following my father's death. I have no information on who to contact regarding what little property is involved. My mother is still living and is his sole heir. Most if not all of their assets are held in both their names. Can anyone tell me where I begin?

Must probate court be involved? If so, how do I start the process?

Calculate the value of the property that is NOT titled in both names and then visit your county courthouse to see what the minimum amount of estate value must be before probate is required. There may be simplified procedures available for smaller estates.
