Elder Abuse Grandmother


What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
My grandmother lives in Texas.For a year and 2 months she has been in a rehab as she fell and broke her hip.Well my grandmother can not go home until my uncle gets her house in good shape...It is VERY dirty and dusty and rat infested.He is my grandmothers caregiver and power of attorney in medical and financial.He lives next door to her and did keep her isolated as she stopped driving...I have been doing some research and beleive it is elder abuse...My uncle is her sole caregiver and he is an alcoholic and just will not get my grandmothers house in good shape.What can I do if anything in this situation? Am so very frustrated and upset as I live in California and my grandmother lives in Texas! Stephanie

Call Adult Protective Services in the county where grandma is residing.

Check with Agency on Aging to see what services they can provide:
