Minnesota Medical Assistance (MA) aka MedicaidWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MN My Grandmother, age 82, was living in an assisted living facility, but now will be confined to a nursing home. The monthly cost of nursing home care is ~$6,000 per month. She has $50,000 in cash assests remaining and would like to disburse $36,000 to her grandchildren. The remaining she would use for the $3k asset cap and burial trust. How can she disburse the $36k without recieving eligibility penalties from Medical Assistance? Thank you. |

| There's a 5 year look back period. Should have gifted money 6 years ago. Look at how they do the calculations, to come up with the months of ineligibility.
