What is the name of your state? Ohio.

I am an adult child of elderly parents. Mom was recently admitted into a nursing home and Dad likely will also be admitted soon. In handling their bills, some credit card bills were found that are large. How do we handle these? In the event of their death, are their children responsible for paying their bills? I know other states require whatever can be paid from the estate goes to bills, whatever is unpaid is left unpaid--children are not responsible. Is this true for the state of Ohio?

Thanks!

Q: How do we handle these?

A: Don't pay them unless you just especially feel like it.

Q: In the event of their death, are their children responsible for paying their bills?

A: I've never heard of such a law in the United States.
