What is the name of your state? KY

I need to learn about poa. Does a copy have to kept at the courthouse? Or can you just have a notary sign it and it is valid in court? Can this document allow the agent to sign social security checks, even if the agent does not have legal guardianship of the principal?

No.

There should also be witnesses that are not the agent/grantee. You should find info for your state in your state statutes.
it is valid in court?
It depends.

SS does not recogize a POA. Is the POA the Representative Payee? If not, then how do you know that the POA is signing the checks? More importantly, are the SS checks being deposited in the the benefciary's bank account and being used for the care, etc. of the SS beneficiary?

How about an update on your mom, dad, and your sister that needs to be bitch slapped? Was there a guardian hearing or is it coming up?
