What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California. My aunt gave up guardianship of her daugher who was suffering from Huntington's disease. My cousin therefore became a ward of the state. They moved my cousin a few times and my aunt was never notified. She just received notice today that my cousin passed away a year ago. There seems to be something wrong with this. I realize she gave up guardianship and the patient (my cousin) has a right of privacy, but it seems that notice should have been given on each move and also when she became critically ill. Is there no recourse?
