neighbors tree damage

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon

The neighbors tree fell down on a power line connected to my house and damaged our electric. What is the best steps to take and who is resoncible for the damage?

Call your home owners insurance agent.

Not the agent. Call the claims department.

Call your electrical company that sells you power. More than likely they own the wire that goes to your house and will make the repair.
