401K Plans

I live in North Carolina and am planning on filing separation papers. Married 25+ years; husband got job out of town and decided he wanted to find someone in that town. Have child in college; and he is no help in paying expenses. Do I have right to force him to split everything 50/50, including 401K plan he has? Also, since child is over 18, can he be forced to help with college?
