I desparately (sp.) need advice in regard to my mother. She is 77, destitute and WILL NOT ACCEPT HELP from my sister or myself. She was found this winter in her delapidated home practically starving to death with no food in her home. She has no teeth, no hot water, has a small heater in the wall that she has to sleep near. We are beside ourselves. I flew to Pennsylvania (where she lives to try to help). She called me names when I tried to rectify her electrical problems. (hot wires in her living areas, etc). I want to know if I can be held liable for her condition. What if she dies? Can I be charged with neglect? (She has requested the protective services in her area to leave her alone. --they were sending a lady every two weeks with food.
I am so worried about her and frustrated that I cannot help. I am not rich, but would love to do SOMETHING!!!
Any advice would be most appreciated. |
