Question

I am 34 years old. Born in California. My birth mother gave me to my mother (Laura) and father (Edward) who raised me as their own daughter. No legal paperwork of any kind was ever drawn. I do have a copy of my birth certificate which shows the name of my birth mother and father. Under childs name - Baby Girl. Both parents passed when I was in my teens and I was not aware of the problem with my birth certificate. I have my drivers license which I attatined with my Baptismal certificate. My social security number my parents attained for me. Now I want a passport and need my name on the birth certificate. Thank you for any help.

Contact your State Health Dept. in charge of Vital Records or whatever the office is called that issues and maintains birth certificates. There is a way to have a new birth certificate issued in your name.
