Question

I am trying to get support for my two month old son. His father claims to have no funds to pay the court order. He thinks that if he sings over parental rights he wont have to pay. Is this true??? Should I get legal help? help lynn in Iowa

I do plan to keep after him to pay i just wanted to make sure that he can't find some loop hole to get out of supporting his son... I live in Iowa and know that they take the support payment from his checks. i just want to make sure that he will have to pay no matter if he signs over his rights. Why should I be made to take on all the child care cost when he is just as much responsible for our son being here as i am. thanks for the feed back

I am also afrid that the grandmother (fathers mom) might try to get custody of my son.. can she do this. I have a good paying job and I have never been in trouble with the law... She has made refrence to me not being able to give her grandson what he needs in life....
