I have recently broken off a 13 year relationship with a man. I signed the house over to him as well as most of the vehicles that we had aquired during this time.( trying to be nice about it was dumb i know)In return i took several things from the house, but was moving out of state and did not have enough time or money to move all of the things that were mine. He told me that I could come back and get these items when i returned home. This was verbal and we both agreed. Now however he is so distraught with the fact that i actually left him that he has sold some of my things and is telling me that i cannot have anything out of the house. ( He has sold a $3000.00 quilting machine of mine for $200.00) All of the x-mas ornaments that my children had made for me throughout the years are still there but he is telling me that they willnot be there when i arrive to get them. I currently live in Va. but the actual items are in Iowa. Can he hold these personal items from me? and can i take some kind of action to make him pay me the actual value for the machine he has sold? |
