I live in IL, and am the custodial parent of an 18 year old who wants to go live with her mother in New York. This child quit school when she was 17 and has been working full time for the last year and a half. My ex wife has sworn to make me pay when this child moves in with her. Can she do that ?

How can she make you "Pay" if the child is 18. Why did she quit school?

Your daughter has possibly ruined her chances at a bright future by quiting school, therefore, she won't be going to college. She'd have to take the GED to try and get somewhere, but most colleges look down on that.

I don't see how NCP can make you pay anything. Unless she's talking about moving expenses and things like that.......
