How can I get a divorce without having my husband served with papers? He is in China and though the papers were delivered to him, no registered mail receipt came back. China mail is a mess. I need to continue with the process, but I can't seem to legally get him served. Help!!

Serve him by publication. This will cost a few hundred, but you get everything you want by default order. Check your law library for how to do it and what forms to use.

Also, contact the embassy and see if they know where he is. China keeps a pretty close eye on Americans in its borders.
