I need help and I dont know who to turn to. My friend is the grandmother of a three year old granddaughter that is being molested by the biological father (this has been substatiated by a licensed social worker and child protective DHS). The grandparents won visitation rights and have admitted that their son will be there. The parents have appealed, but visitation starts this Saturday and DHS wont do anything until Monday. She cant get another lawyer due to the fact that grandparents (the one's of the son) are very prominent and powerful in the small town that the family is in. Any suggestions?

For one, i can't believe they are allowing the child to go knowing the father will be there. I would like to believe that the grandparents would have the father leave the house while the child is there. You say a social worker and child protective DHS are aware of the problem, so why would they even allow this? If i were your friend i would stay on the phone or be at the office trying to have this visitation stopped or atleast have them put someone in the home while the child is there. Is this an overnight visit or just a day visit? What is the child's mother doing to stop the visitation? Will the father be at the house everytime the child visits? I'm sorry, but i would put my life on the line if it meant that my child wouldn't have to be around the molester!!

MY RESPONSE TO YOU IS NOT LEGAL BUT MORAL. GET OUT! GET THAT CHILD OUT OF THE HOUSE AND OUT OF THE AREA FAST! IF THE LAW CAN NOT SEE THAT THIS IS NOT RIGHT TO SEND A CHILD INTO THAT SITUATION, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO! IF THIS WERE YOUR CHILD OR A NEIGHBORS CHILD YOU WOULD BE SAYING THE SAME THING!! GET OUT AND HIDE UNTIL YOU CAN SEEK LEGAL HELP FROM SOMEWHERE OR SOME ONE. GOOD LUCK!

Make a very BIG scene when or if the police find you in contemp of court for not letting granparents see child. Tell everyone that or what your fears are so it cant come back to haunt you when gp say he isnt or wont be there. You are in true fear that he will be.It DOSENT mater if its a all day overnight or 5 min vist it onlt take a few sec to molest and this child has already been so its not a threat is when again. If the gp are so upstanding they are not going to want the public knowing. I would hide the child or both leave until you go to court.Or child might get "sick" until court. You will never forgive yourself if you dont what dose bio dad have to lose come Mon everyone "will know" so he might just want ome time. Please think of all options
