Is it possible for a mother recieving support to lower or cut out child support altogether?

If you don't "need" the support, why not open up an account in your childs name and put all the money in there for him/her. Then you can use it for college or buy him a car when he gets older.?? Or are you wanting to stop contact with the Father all together?
