Child Support

I have been on disability since 1991. Social Security has paid child support to my daughters mother, but now my daughter is coming to live with me her father. I am single and hope to be employed in the near future. My question is whether my daughter's mother will be responsible to help with our daughters expenses, does she have to pay child support for my daughter? Thank you for any information you can provide on this matter. JMF

My response:

Yes, but only when you go back to court to have the orders changed. Otherwise, if you don't, and despite the fact she's living with you, you must follow the court orders and pay child support to your ex-wife.
