My sister, in Texas, is divorcing a man in the military (Army). They seperated in May 2000 and agreed that he would NOT pay child support for their son until September 2000, and instead he would pay for her half of their joint bills. Today, he told her that he is filing chapter 11 and she will have to pay for her own bills now, and that he did not take care of any of the bills this summer. He also said that the Chapter 11 will pust the divorce back another month to the end of October. She has maxed out her credit cards taking care of her and her son without help from him this summer. She needs the child support now but does not want to delay her divorce any longer than possible. She does not have any more money to give her lawyer to get more advice/help. What do you suggest? |
