| Does anyone know the answers to the following questions: 1. If either parent voluntarily takes a lower paying job, can they request a modification of support? Basically, my ex is claiming that since he took a lower-paying job, he should now pay less support! 2. If a parent quits their job to take care of a child from a subsequent relationship, does this remove their support liability? 3. If a parent quits their job and their spouse (the step-father for example) agrees to pay their support amount for them, is there any legal issue? Can the court then find that the step-parent's salary in some way is relevant to re-calculating support? |

| These are very good questions, and I look forward to hearing some responses. All I know is that a parent HAS to support their children, regardless. And it doesn't matter where the money is coming from, just as long as it is given to help the child (child support) Good luck! ![]() |
