I live in San Francisco and lent $30,000 to an individual that lived in Bend, Oregon whom passed away on April 3, 2000. I sent several letters to his wife requesting payment but she is ignoring me. Found out that there was no provate filed in any parts of the estate of Oregon? How can I collect this debt? I have a note signed by deseased individual and a cancelled check as proof of lending him the money.

Please post in the Estate Planning Board. They will be able to assist you better.
