Re: common-law
Originally posted by mouthywon What is the name of your state? missouri**************.could anyone help me with info on missouri common-law marraige???
My response: Missouri doesn't have Common Law marriage. However, it will recognize a Common Law marriage if you were married in another State (see below) that is a Common Law marriage State. States that Recognize Common Law Marriages: Alabama Colorado Washington, D.C. Georgia (if the marriage was entered into prior to January 1, 1997) Idaho (if the marriage was entered into prior to January 1, 1996) Iowa Kansas Montana New Hampshire (recognizes the marriage only for inheritance purposes) Ohio (if the marriage was entered into prior to October 10, 1991) Oklahoma Rhode Island South Carolina Texas Utah IAAL |
