Angry

My ex husband, "CJ" and I have joint custody, week to week visitation of our 6 year old daughter. The following incident occurred 1.5 months ago for which I am being charged with abuse by the DA. Daughter threw temper tantrum, threw self on the floor, I spanked, threw on the floor again, I tapped cheek (NOT A SLAP) to get her attention, threw on the floor again, this time hitting a table injuring her mouth. CJ assumed I caused the injury, convinced 6 year old that I did. He sent her to school the same morning , school called CPS. CPS sent her to her dad's that night, next day determined that my home is "safe".

I received a call from CJ's attorney 6/23 at 4:30 pm to be in court @ 815am on 6/26 for a hearing regarding child custody.

No money for attorney, no time for attorney.... Don't want to lose daughter. Criminal case pending, no doubt that I will be found innocent....

you may be able to file for an extention on your hearing to get legal representaion. I had a similar thing ( short notice of a court date) happen to me this past spring, and they gave me extra time to obtain legal counsel. You can try and contact legal aid too, they may help you.

Good luck
