| My brother has costody of his son, but his ex is claiming him as a dependent for things such as student aid, food stamps, and welfare. Is this legal for her to do? She has also quit her job to avoid paying child support. What do you suggest he does about this? |

| If your brother has custody, she should not be able to claim him as a dependent (are you referring to income tax?) The only way she could is if she provided more than 50% of the childs care. I would think there is no possible way! |
