Question
The divorce decree states husband #1 is to maintain life insurance policy with our child as irrevokable beneficiary till 18 yrs old. My child was adopted by present husband a few years after that divorce. Beneficiary was changed from our child to husband #1's friend.

Did the adoption free husband #1's right to change beneficiary?

I'm pretty sure that it's null and void now that your husband has adopted the child. Your X no longer has ANY obligations to that child whatsoever.
