Question

I was divorced 10yrs ago after being married 18yrs. I did not ask for alimony because I was a registered nurse. Now, at 51yrs, I am disabled. Can I go back and ask for alimony?

in california normally there is a provision in the judgment which affects the jurisdiction of the court concerning particular items. sometimes in long marriages the court may entertain the issue for years. you need to take your judgment to an attorney to see if this was left open or if it was not.

The old saying goes " YOu HAd your Day in Court" You can not very well ask your x-husband of 10yrs. to give you support . If every x -wife could do that the courts will be over flowing. Once you are divorce you are not entitle to anything after that other than cs if you have minor children . I am sorry for your mishap but you will be wasting your time and money.
