I would like to know if there are any laws in the state of Kentucky requesting full custody to victims of domestic violence. Also, I would like to know if typically the courts order the perpetrator to complete some type of anger management therapy prior to having unsupervised visitation?

I am assuming that you are worried about your ex getting custody and that the ex has court documented records of domestic violence. Is this correct?

If so, I am under the impression that the courts would have to be petitioned for your ex to have supervised visitation. Once that is granted I don't believe he will be able to get unsupervised visitation until he proves, through anger management etc., that he has overcome these tendencies.

I'm in Ky as well, but my husband and I are going through something simuliar in WV, where my husbands ex's new husband has done jail time for beating his ex wife. We are concerned for my stepson, and are going to seek physcial custody.

I would be interested in hearing how your case turns out.

Good Luck and God Bless.
