My husband never established paternity for his 1st child of 12 years, he just took his ex-girlfriend's word that the child was his, then she took him to court. He recieved visitation rights and is paying child support. My question is, if a DNA test is done and the paternity results are negative, does he still have to pay child support.

Yes, after 12-years of visitation and acting as a father, he would be considered a common law dad.

There is no such animal as a common law Dad. There is a "legal father" or a "presumed father".

And yes, vze4htxf - by now it's too late for him to contest paternity.
