We need advise. What are a father's rights in this situation:

A married man from one state has a brief affair with a divorced woman from another (neighboring) state. A pregnancy results from this affair. The married man wants to do whats best for the unborn child. He feels that the child should either be put up for adoption or for the mother to give the child to him and his wife to raise. (His wife is willing to raise this child in a loving home). The pregnant woman is divorced, not strong financially, already has one child and is active duty military. The pregnant woman will not consider giving this child up.

What are the father's rights? He wants to do right by this child. He can offer it a much more stable home life than the mother. If the child remains in it's mother's custody can he force her to reside in the same state as him? Or restrict her from moving further away than she already is? If he cannot raise the child himself he will pay child support but also wants reasonable access to his child so that he can have a relationship with the child.

Go get a attorney right away . Your husband can have rights to his child . i do feel very strongly about both parents being there for the child . I do not think it is right for you to ask her to give up her child because you feel like you can give it a better home . You all need to be thinking about both mother and father and step mommy to give that baby a loving home. do not ask her what you would not ask your husband and that is giving up her baby . I am not opposed to the child living with the father with the mom having rights to it as well . All i am saying instead of fighting about it try to help one another with the baby be a partner in this wonderful human life . You all need to be friends instead of enemies.
