Red face

My Husband has been divorced and paying support for going on 14 yrs now. over 12 yrs ago, his employer was deducting his CS out of his check. We are now having problems <and have been for 4yrs now> about arrearages. It is appearing that the employer deducted the ordered support, but did not send it to the support office. They <the employer> went bankrupt probably 12 yrs ago.. Any idea's on what to do here??

My response:

Perhaps I'm misreading your post, but are you saying that for 12 years, no one said anything to you that money was not being received? If this is what you are saying, I find it more than difficult to believe. What is your State?

I'm in Ohio and Noooo IAAL:..this has not gone on for 12yrs. It went on for approximatly 6mths to a year--- 12 years ago. We only found out that he had a very large arrearage about 4yrs ago <see ADC AND CHILDSUPPORT post> My husband admittadly had missed some payments throughout this almost 14yr order, however, not near the amount that was being presented to us to pay. So I've been attempting to figure out just where all this arrearage has come from. Including getting a print out of the support paid throughout these years. During one time frame early on ...there are several payments not made, that were during the same time frame that my husband worked at this company - and had a court order garnishment on his wages with this company. <yes i do have all of these papers> .

My husband personally did not, and was not supposed to make the payments at that period of time, and he did, and always has worked full time. So, what happened to the payments. again,,,the company has been out of business for over 10yrs now, after going bankrupt.

Thanks
