I live in California. Have been paying alimony for 5 years, now my ex has remarried and I'm going to court to stop the support payments. I have full custody of one minor child age 15. Am I able to go after her for child support if I have a significantly higher income than her? She has not been obligated to pay support up to this time.

This may not help but i will say it anyway. Why would your higher income mean she shouldn't help support her own child? I mean, the child lives with you, you work to put food in her mouth and clothes on her back so therefore the other parent should have to pay something to help out no matter how much higher your income is. I am probably wrong but that is my opinion. You were supporting the child in your home but you were paying support for your ex wife who is now remarried and doesn't need you to support her anymore. I hope they stop making you pay her alimony and start making her pay YOU for child support. Good luck.
