going for custody

I have an 8 year old daughter who presently lives with her mother. However her mother has no disciplinary control over my daughter. She also works full time and goes to school full time so she only spends a couple hours each day with her.
I would like custody of my daughter. I feel I could provide a more stable home. When she is at my house, I have no problem with discipline. She is a well behaved child. However her mother asking me to help her because she says she can't handle her anymore. What should I do???

You have the right to petition the courts at anytime and file for custody of your daughter. So do it.
